  Ziggy Stardust Poetry

My Evenings With Ziggy

A phone call sometime around 2am
And I would be right there
It would start out fine enough
But it would always end in tears
My clothes are still quite stained
With make-up and long forgotten secrets
But I’ll never forget our evenings together
Never as long as I live
We talked for hours into the night
Sometimes shouting, but it was alright
And he broke down and sobbed on my shoulder
Saying he was sorry he raised his voice
I held his trembling body tightly in my embrace
Afraid that if I let him go he’d fall
Ziggy relaxed and we sat on the couch
Starting to talk once more
Eventually he would fall asleep
And I’d lock the door when I left
Only to be called again
Sometime around 2am.
